Muscat & Wadi Shab

Day 1: Muscat City Tour

Itinerary:

• Pick-up Time: 8:00 AM from your hotel.
• Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque: Begin the day with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the Middle East. It is the only mosque open to non-Muslims and expatriates in Oman, offering a great opportunity to explore its grand architecture and beautiful interiors.
• Muttrah Corniche & Muttrah Souq: Continue your tour along the Muttrah Corniche, a picturesque waterfront promenade. You’ll also visit Muttrah Souq, a traditional market where you can shop for Omani specialties like Frankincense, Omani daggers, silver handicrafts, and scarves. Practice your bargaining skills with the help of your guide.
• Bait Al Zubair Museum: Next, explore the Bait Al Zubair Museum to learn about Oman’s rich culture, history, and heritage.
• Al Alam Palace: Stop for a photo at the official residence of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, Al Alam Palace, flanked by two 16th-century Portuguese forts: Mirani and Jalali.
• Qantab Region: Head to the Qantab region for a scenic photo stop with views of the Gulf of Oman.
• Return to Hotel: After completing the city tour, head back to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Wadi Shab

Itinerary:

• Pick-up Time: 8:30 AM from your hotel.
• Journey to Wadi Shab: Your tour guide will pick you up and drive you towards Wadi Shab, about a 2-hour drive from Muscat. Along the way, enjoy the scenic views of Omani villages and the rugged landscape.
• Wadi Shab: Upon arrival at Wadi Shab, you will transfer to a small fishing boat to cross the wadi. Once you begin the walk through the canyon, the stunning natural beauty will leave you in awe. Continue until you reach the Keyhole. Here, you can swim in crystal-clear pools and even dive through the narrow keyhole that leads to a magnificent cave with a stunning waterfall.
• Wadi Tiwi: After exploring Wadi Shab, head to Wadi Tiwi, another beautiful wadi in the region, for a brief visit.
• Bimmah Sinkhole: Next, visit the Bimmah Sinkhole, a dramatic limestone crater with inviting blue-green water, perfect for a refreshing swim.
• Return to Muscat: After enjoying the sinkhole, you’ll head back to Muscat, with lunch served on the way.

• Walking shoes or trainers are essential, as the terrain can be uneven. Avoid flip-flops.
