Overview:

The Salalah City Tour starts in the morning at 08:30 AM with a visit to the Museum of the Frankincense Land, located in the Al Baleed Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The museum, which opened in 2007, features two main sections:

• History Hall: This showcases the geography and history of the ancient Frankincense trade route and provides a glimpse into Oman’s historical past through various archaeological findings.
• Marine Hall: This section highlights Oman’s rich maritime history, including the development of the shipbuilding and maritime trade industries. You’ll also see replicas of ancient Omani boats.

After the museum, you will drive through lush plantations of vegetables and fruits, with a stop to enjoy fresh coconut water from street stalls (at your own cost). Then, you'll make a photo stop at the impressive Sultan Qaboos Mosque.

Next, you’ll visit the Official Palace of His Majesty the Sultan (Al Husn Palace) and take a stroll through the old Haffah Souk. The souk is famous for selling high-quality frankincense, as well as other traditional Dhofari souvenirs. The fragrant smell of frankincense fills the air as you explore the small shops lined with incense boxes, clay incense burners, and bags of incense crystals. You’ll have plenty of time for shopping before heading back to your hotel.
