Turtle Beach & Desert Trip

Day 1: Muscat – Wahiba Sands – Wadi Bani Khalid – Turtle Beach

Itinerary:

• Pick-up Time: 8:30 AM from your hotel in Muscat.
• Wahiba Sands: Begin your journey toward the Wahiba Sands, a vast desert with dunes that stretch 200 km long and 100 km wide, running south from the Eastern Hajars to the Arabian Sea. Experience thrilling dune bashing on the golden sand dunes and visit a local Bedouin house where you can enjoy Omani coffee and try a camel ride.
• Wadi Bani Khalid: Next, head to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s most beautiful and famous wadis, known for its clear blue waters that remain throughout the year. The wadi is surrounded by rugged mountains, and the water sustains the region’s lush date palm groves. Take time to explore and relax in the oasis.
• Lunch: Enjoy a delicious lunch in the Wadi Bani Khalid area.
• Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve: After lunch, continue your journey to Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve for a chance to witness turtle nesting. After checking into the hotel, you’ll have time to relax.
• Evening Turtle Watching: Dinner will be served at 8:00 PM, and after that, you will meet your guide for an exciting night on the beach in search of nesting turtles. While sightings are often successful, they are not guaranteed.
• Overnight Stay: Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Sur – Bimmah Sinkhole – Muscat

Itinerary:

• Morning Departure: After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Muscat at 8:30 AM via the coastal Muscat-Sur highway.
• Dhow Building Factory: Your first stop will be at a traditional Dhow-building factory in Sur, where you can witness the ancient art of wooden shipbuilding. These Arabian dhows are crafted without reference drawings, a technique passed down through generations.
• Lunch in Sur: After exploring Sur, enjoy a local lunch.
• Bimmah Sinkhole: Continue your journey along the coast to the Bimmah Sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater filled with inviting blue-green waters. You can climb down concrete steps into the sinkhole and take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear water.
• Return to Muscat: After your visit to the sinkhole, drive back to Muscat, and expect to arrive around 4:30 PM.
