Day 1
Muscat – Nizwa – Jebel Shams
• 08:00 AM: Begin the journey from Muscat, with a stop at Birkat Al Mauz, a picturesque village located at the foothills of Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountains). Enjoy a peaceful walk through its oasis and dense date plantations.
• Proceed to Jabrin, a 17th-century castle that is considered one of Oman’s finest. The castle features stunning Omani ceiling paintings and beautifully executed wood carvings, offering a glimpse into Oman's royal and architectural history.
• Next, visit Misfah, a traditional mountain village with stone dwellings that are still inhabited today. The village offers an insight into the ancient way of life in the Omani mountains.
• On your way to Jebel Shams, stop at Wadi Ghul, a village known for its terraced farming methods, offering scenic views of the surrounding area.
• Continue to Wadi Nakher, situated deep within Oman’s largest canyon, before arriving at Jebel Shams, the highest peak in the Jebel Akhdar range. The view from here is nothing short of spectacular.
• In the evening, visit Nizwa, the cultural capital of Oman, known as the birthplace of Islam in the Sultanate. Explore the Nizwa Souq, famous for its hand-carved Khanjars (daggers) and intricate silver jewelry.
