JEWELS OF OMAN – 6-DAY TOUR

DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN MUSCAT

Welcome to Oman! Upon arrival at Muscat International Airport, you will proceed through quick and hassle-free immigration and customs. Our friendly Afaq Travel & Tourism chauffeur will greet you at the arrival lounge and escort you to a comfortable vehicle for your transfer to the hotel.

DAY 02: COASTAL ADVENTURE – WADI SHAB – TURTLE WATCHING

Pickup: 8:15 AM
Your journey begins as you travel south towards the Quriyat Region, passing through a breathtaking landscape of dramatic mountains. Your first stop is the stunning Bimmah Sinkhole, a natural limestone crater filled with crystal-clear water.

Continuing through the picturesque villages of Dhabab and Finns, you will arrive at Wadi Shab, one of Oman’s most spectacular wadis. A short boat ride will take you across the wadi, where you’ll embark on a scenic trek through the canyon. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the turquoise pools and explore the famous Keyhole Cave, complete with a hidden waterfall.

After a delicious local lunch, travel to the coastal city of Sur and check in at Ras Al Hadd Holiday Resort. Later in the evening, visit Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve to witness the magical sight of endangered green turtles nesting on the beach. While sightings are common, they cannot be guaranteed.

DAY 03: WADI BANI KHALID – WAHIBA SANDS DESERT EXPERIENCE

After breakfast, set off on an exciting 4WD adventure through the mountains to Wadi Bani Khalid, a paradise of natural pools surrounded by lush date palms. The wadi is one of Oman’s few water sources that flow year-round, offering a perfect spot for a refreshing dip.

Following lunch, continue to the magnificent Wahiba Sands, famous for its rolling dunes that range from golden to white. Nestled in the heart of this desert is the Arabian Oryx Camp, offering a luxurious Bedouin-style stay with air-conditioned accommodations.

Enjoy a thrilling dune-bashing experience, reaching the summit of 150-meter-high dunes just in time to witness a breathtaking sunset. The evening includes a delicious Arabic dinner, live entertainment, and a relaxing time under a starlit sky around a traditional campfire.

DAY 04: WAHIBA SANDS – NIZWA

Pickup: 8:30 AM
After breakfast, check out and begin your journey towards Nizwa, Oman’s cultural capital. Your first stop is the Nizwa Fort, known for its massive circular cannon tower and incredible views of the surrounding mountains.

Next, explore the bustling Nizwa Souq, one of the oldest markets in Oman. Here, you can browse for traditional handicrafts, silverware, pottery, and authentic Omani souvenirs. After some shopping and sightseeing, check in to your hotel in Nizwa.

DAY 05: BAHLA – MISFAH – JEBEL SHAMS

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the historic town of Bahla, home to the famous Bahla Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, visit Birkat Al Mawz, an enchanting village with ancient ruins and lush date plantations.

Continue your journey through the rugged countryside towards Jebel Shams, the highest peak in Oman, reaching 3,000 meters above sea level. Often referred to as the Grand Canyon of Oman, Jebel Shams offers breathtaking panoramic views of deep canyons and dramatic cliffs.

After exploring the stunning landscape, check in to your hotel at Jebel Shams and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay in the mountains.

DAY 06: DEPARTURE TRANSFER

On your final day, enjoy a relaxed breakfast before making a photo stop at Bahla Fort, one of Oman’s most important historical sites. You will then visit Sharaf Al Alamein, the highest point on the route, offering spectacular views of the valley below.

Next, explore Al Hamra and Misfah, two of Oman’s oldest villages, known for their 400-year-old mud-brick houses and ancient falaj irrigation systems. After a delightful lunch, return to Muscat, where your incredible journey concludes.
