Day 1: Muscat – Qalhat – Ras Al Jinz
Itinerary:
- Pick-up Time: 8:00 AM.
- Qalhat & Coastal Drive: Depart from Muscat in a 4WD vehicle. Take a scenic drive along the rugged coastal route, offering breathtaking views of the Gulf of Oman’s blue waters and pristine beaches. Along the way, pass by the fishing village of Quriyat, where you may spot flamingos and eagles at an inland stream.
- Wadi Arabayeen: Visit the picturesque Wadi Arabayeen, known for its deep pools of water set amongst lush date palms. The serene location is perfect for photos.
- Bimah Sinkhole: Stop at the Bimah Sinkhole, a stunning limestone crater with clear blue-green water at the bottom. This natural wonder offers another opportunity for photos.
- Lunch: Enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your journey.
- Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve: Continue to Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve for an overnight stay. After check-in and relaxation at the hotel, dinner will be served at 8:00 PM.
- Turtle Watching: After dinner, meet with your guide and head to the beach to search for turtles. Although sightings are generally successful, they are not guaranteed. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Wadi Bani Khalid – Wahiba Sands – Muscat
Itinerary:
- Breakfast: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
- Wahiba Sands: Begin your journey toward the Wahiba Sands (Sharqiyah Desert). This vast desert stretches 200 km long and 100 km wide. Experience thrilling dune bashing on the golden sand dunes and visit a local Bedouin house to sample traditional Omani coffee. Camel rides are also available for a true desert experience.
- Wadi Bani Khalid: Continue to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the most beautiful wadis in Oman, known for its clear deep blue water that flows year-round. The rugged mountains and traditional villages surrounding the wadi provide a peaceful, picturesque backdrop.
- Lunch: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, savoring traditional Omani dishes.
- Return to Muscat: After your visit to Wadi Bani Khalid, begin your journey back to Muscat, arriving around 4:30 PM.
