Jebel Safari Salalah

Overview:

After breakfast at your hotel, the tour departs at 8:30 AM for a full-day safari into the Dhofar Mountains. The journey begins with a drive through the scenic village of Taqah, where you’ll stop for a photo at the Taqah Plateau, which offers a panoramic view from the top of a cliff.

Next, we’ll drive into the evergreen Wadi Darbat for a relaxing walk along the Wadi bed, surrounded by herds of camels, goats, and cattle. During the Khareef season (monsoon period), you may see a stunning natural waterfall, over 100 meters high, flowing into multiple lakes and lush green vegetation.

The tour continues to one of the world’s largest sinkholes, Tawi Attair (also known as the "Well of Birds"), which is 211 meters deep and 150 meters wide. This location is often frequented by birds throughout the year.

The next stop is the breathtaking plateau at almost 1,700 meters in the Jebel Samhan mountain range, known as the “Grand Canyon of Dhofar”. From here, you can enjoy stunning views of the east coast on one side and the vast Qara mountain range on the other.

A picnic lunch will be provided during the tour. After lunch, we’ll continue our journey through the Qara mountain range, passing through scenic villages and landscapes, with plenty of photo opportunities. The tour ends with a return to your hotel in Salalah by the evening.
