Oman Nature and Culture Tour

Day 1: Muscat – Nizwa – Bahla – Jabreen

• Morning:
  • Depart from Muscat and head towards Nizwa, often regarded as Oman’s cultural capital. Here, you'll visit the Nizwa Fort, an impressive structure with a massive circular cannon tower. Explore the traditional Nizwa Souq, known for its vibrant atmosphere and local handicrafts.
  • Continue your journey to Jabreen Castle, built in the 17th century, renowned for its beautiful plasterwork, carved doors, and painted wooden beams. It’s one of the most striking castles in Oman.
• Afternoon:
  • Proceed to Bahla, one of Oman’s oldest towns. In the 12th century, it served as the capital of the local tribe. Although the monumental fort is closed for renovations, a photo stop will be made. Bahla is famous for its pottery, and you'll have the opportunity to visit a potter’s workshop (not available on Fridays and Public Holidays).
  • Head to Al Hamra, an ancient village where 400-year-old mud houses are still in use. You'll also explore the Al Hamra Falaj system, which is a traditional irrigation system that has been vital to the region's agriculture.
• Evening:
  • Return to Nizwa for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Nizwa – Wahiba Sands – Ras Al Jinz

• Morning:
  • After breakfast, visit Nizwa Fort, with its impressive cannon tower, followed by a walk through the traditional Nizwa Souq.
  • Drive to Wahiba Sands, passing through Birkat Al Mauz and Ibra. Wahiba Sands is a vast desert landscape, famous for its undulating red and white sand dunes. Experience the thrill of dune driving, a photographer’s dream, offering stunning views of the ever-changing sand patterns.
• Afternoon:
  • Head to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the most beautiful wadis in Oman. The oasis is nestled amidst barren mountains, with deep blue pools of water. You can take a refreshing dip and relax amidst the stunning landscape.
  • Drive towards Sur and check in at your hotel. After an early dinner, embark on a night visit to the Ras Al Jinz Turtle Sanctuary, where you can witness the incredible sight of Green Turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs.
• Evening:
  • Return to the hotel late at night for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Ras Al Jinz – Bimah Sinkhole – Wadi Arbayeen – Muscat

• Morning:
  • Visit Sur, renowned for its traditional dhow shipyard. Sur has a rich history in shipbuilding and remains a vital coastal town.
  • Start your coastal journey back to Muscat, passing through scenic countryside and rugged mountains. Make a stop at the Bibi Miriam Mausoleum in Qalhat, an ancient and historic site.
• Afternoon:
  • Visit Wadi Tiwi, an oasis known for its lemon and date plantations. Continue your journey to Fins Beach, a picturesque stretch of coastline.
  • Explore the Wadi Arbayeen, a stunning wadi with deep pools of water surrounded by date palms. It’s an excellent spot for photos and relaxation.
  • Visit the Bimah Sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater with inviting blue-green water at the bottom. This natural wonder is perfect for a quick swim or to admire the scenic views.
• Evening:
  • Drive back to Muscat.
