Omani Culture Tour

Day 1: Nizwa – Jebel Akhdar

• 08:00 AM: Depart from Muscat and make a stop at the picturesque village of Birkat Al Mauz, located at the foothills of the Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountains). Enjoy a walk through its oasis and dense date plantations, a serene experience amidst nature.
• Proceed to Jabrin, one of Oman’s finest castles, built in the late 17th century. Jabrin Castle served as a seat of Omani learning and is renowned for its beautifully executed wood carvings and ceiling paintings—some of the finest examples of Omani craftsmanship.
• Continue to Misfah, a charming mountain village with ancient stone dwellings that still stand today. While en route to Jebel Shams, you will pass Wadi Ghul, known for its terraced farming villages perched on steep slopes.
• Your next stop will be Wadi Nakher, situated deep within one of Oman’s most dramatic canyons. From here, head up to Jebel Shams, the highest peak in the Jebel Akhdar range, offering breathtaking panoramic views.
• Visit Nizwa, the capital of Oman’s interior and the birthplace of Islam in the Sultanate. Explore the Nizwa Souq, famous for its intricately hand-carved Khanjars (daggers) and ornamental silver jewellery.
• Return to Nizwa for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Wahiba Sands – Wadi Bani Khalid

• 08:00 AM: After breakfast, depart for Wahiba Sands, a vast sea of sand dunes, some of which rise up to 200 meters. The ever-changing patterns of the dunes provide endless opportunities for photography. The area is home to a variety of flora and fauna, making it a stunning landscape for exploration.
• Visit a Bedouin house in the middle of the desert to experience the traditional desert life and hospitality.
• Next, visit Wadi Bani Khalid, a beautiful oasis set amidst the rugged mountains. The wadi’s clear blue pools of water are perfect for a refreshing swim and relaxation. The surrounding small villages add to the charm of this peaceful location.
• Lunch: You may have lunch at Al Sharqiyah Sands Hotel (on your own).
• After lunch, continue the journey to Sur.

Day 3: Qalhat – Muscat

• 08:00 AM: After breakfast, head towards Qalhat, a village known for its historical ruins and coastal beauty. Visit the fish jetty and dhow factory, where traditional wooden dhows are still built using ancient techniques.
• Continue to the Sineslah Fort, a historical site that offers a glimpse into Oman’s rich heritage.
• Stop at the Bibi Miriam’s Tomb ruins, located on the way to Muscat, and explore the rich history behind this location.
• Take a swim at Fins Beach, a serene and inviting spot to relax by the turquoise waters.
• Next, visit the Bimah Sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater filled with blue-green water. The area is a natural wonder that invites both adventure and tranquility.
• Continue the journey to Wadi Arbayeen, known for its refreshing deep pools of water nestled among date palms, perfect for a swim or photo opportunity.
• Stop at Hail Al Ghaf to visit the mango plantations, where you can enjoy the fruits of Oman’s rich agriculture.
• Proceed to Muscat, passing through the coastal town of Quriyat.
